Although now a dedicated Complementary Medicine Practitioner, Jan's early career was in various administrative and sales jobs within industry and later commerce. After the birth of her son she returned to sales and worked her way up to Area Sales Manager.

Because of Jan's early career in industry and commerce, she experienced first hand the effects of stress and how this had an impact on the health of different individuals. Later, with the death of her husband, her interest in healthcare became more focused on Complementary Medicine. This lead to her taking various courses in Aromatherapy, Ayurvedic Principles, Flower Essences, Crystal Healing, Spiritual Healing, Counselling and Stress Management and also training as a Samaritan.
